Ajica: quick start
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Install on your Mac
- Download the macOS disk image from the download section.
- Open the DMG, move Ajica.app to Applications, and open it. Check the system and architecture requirements shown beside the download.
- Choose a project directory and create your first task. Your local board and database stay on your computer.
Community is free without a time limit. The macOS app starts a 14-day Pro trial at first launch, without payment details. It never becomes a paid subscription automatically. Connected AI services use your accounts and may charge separately.
Connect your first agent
Install and sign in to your chosen agent CLI using its official instructions. Ajica can start Claude Code, Codex, Cline, OpenCode and Antigravity from a task. Other compatible agents can connect as running sessions through MCP or REST.
With Ajica running, give the agent this command:
curl -fsS "http://127.0.0.1:7331/connect?client=codex"
Replace codex with claude-code, cline, opencode, cursor or generic for your client. Follow the returned setup instructions and approve the connection request in Ajica. An agent token is issued after approval; do not share a master token or paste credentials into a task.
Move an executable task to In Progress to start work. Follow the reported progress, answer questions on the card, and review the result and test evidence when it reaches Done. An epic coordinates its required children; a composite waits for its children and then has work of its own.
Buy and activate Pro
Use Buy Ajica Pro on this website or the purchase action in Ajica. The official purchase flow goes through the Ajica Licence Gateway to Polar Checkout. Confirm the price and applicable tax before paying. Polar sends your receipt and licence key to your purchase email.
Open the licence section in Ajica, paste your key and activate it while connected to the internet. For a standalone compatible Linux server, open the board's licence section. A Linux server used on its own does not start a trial.
A key belongs to one named user and allows three activated installations, shared across Mac apps and compatible Linux servers. The server embedded in the Mac app takes no additional slot.
Move an installation
Deactivate the old installation in Ajica or in the Polar customer portal, signing in with your purchase email. This releases its slot so you can activate the new installation. Keep your licence key private.
Updates and offline verification
Your purchase includes 365 days of updates. You keep Pro rights to covered versions after that period. An optional $49 one-time renewal adds 365 days of update coverage for the same key; it adds no installation slots and does not renew automatically.
Initial activation needs an internet connection. Each successful verification allows Pro to work offline for one calendar month in UTC. After that, connect for another verification, including on covered older versions. This verification does not require buying an update renewal. Community features and local data remain when Pro is unavailable.
Linux server
Download the build matching your server: x86_64 or ARM64. Run uname -m if unsure: x86_64 means x86_64, and aarch64 means ARM64. Check the published SHA-256 checksum and follow the instructions included with that build. Linux provides ajica-server and a browser board, not a desktop GUI application. The Mac app can also configure compatible remote-board servers.
Keep a standalone server bound to loopback or a trusted private connection until you have configured authentication and access. Never expose a board credential in a public URL.
Help
If an agent cannot connect, confirm Ajica is running, use the same port in the setup command, and check the pending connection request. For activation problems, check your key, connection and available installation slots.
Contact [email protected] for support. For payment help, use the contact route in your Polar receipt. Include an order reference or purchase email when needed; do not send a full licence key, password or card details.
